Satun - Penang 15/06/06

So we had to get up at 6.30am and re-pack everything!!! Had breakfast and then all clambered into 3 mini buses. We left around 7.40am. I listened to music and read most of the way.
We got to the border at 8.30ish and all had to get off the bus with all our stuff and walk to one post to leave Thailand and then to another post to enter Malaysia, all went simply enough. So now we are an extra hour ahead so 7.
Arrived at Penang at around 2pm, get a room to myself tonight which is cool. Went straight up and had a hot shower. Met everyone at 2.30pm, popped on the net and bought a phonecard. We walked along to change our baht to ringgit and then onto an english pub called Soho for lunch. Had a jacket potato which was ok. I rang Emma at Margaret-Ann and Peters to arrange our meeting.
After lunch we walked upto the mall and wandered round a bit. I got a bit bored so left them there at 4.45pm and went back to the hotel to get ready for meeting Emma. Just got changed quickly.
Emma, Margaret-Ann and Peter arrived to collect me at 5.30pm, said hello to everyone then we jumped into the car and wentoff to their apartment. They live on the 19th floor so a nice view. Its a cute little 2 bedroomed place.
Emma and I chatted a bit and had dinner, salmon, potatoes and veg - tasty. It was good. After dinner we were dropped off at the touristy area at a market, can't remember the name!!, so Emma and I wandered around and alot of the stalls were just setting up. I didn't see anything to buy as usual. We sat down for a drink and I had a coke float which was good and chatted some more.
We got a taxi back to the apartment at 9.30ish after being caught in the rain. Peter then dropped me off at the hotel which was really good of him. It was great seeing Emma but would probably of been better if we could've met somewhere new to both of us as Emma had been there quite a while.
Once I was back at the hotel I wrote some journal and then did some blog til about 12.30am. I rang home when I got back to the room and talked for a bit but there was a time delay which was really annoying me.
End of another day.
