Sydney Last Few Days!!

Ok so haven't been too busy the last couple of days. Walked round from Darling Harbour, under the bridge to check out the Rocks. Its quite a cool little place. they had a market on, although it wasn't a cheap market - bit pricey actually. Bought some chocolate covered peanut brittle though which was delicious. We carried on walking round the harbour and back to the beautiful botanic gardens (where I actually noticed something, don't know if you remember me jumping on a great little free train around the gardens??? Well anyway it wasn't free - I should've paid $10! Oops so I got a bargain there) and walked to the cafe to grab some lunch. We sat in the gardens for a bit. I then suggested walking across the harbour bridge to explore over the water for a while so thats what we did.
It was a surprisingly longish walk over the bridge but nice views if you could ignore the traffic roaring past one side! We got over there and it has a completely different feeling to the city centre of Sydney. We tried to walk round the coastline but this seemed an impossible task due to everyones houses so we had to walk through the housing estates which was really quite peaceful and nice.
We walked for quite a while and then decided we didn't wanna end up being over there when it got dark so caught a ferry back across at about 4.10pm. I will try to remember where we caught the ferry from but can't now.
We got back to the hostel so called home for a bit which was nice. We left the hostel at 6.30ish and walked over to Darling Harbour for the second of their Winter Concert Series, this time we had The Whitlams playing who seem to be quite well known over here although I have no clue who they are. They started and I was originally under the impression they were a rock band, thats what the poster said. Well they weren't really although the guy had quite a good voice and they were ok. I quite enjoyed it...
After the concert we went off to find somewhere to have dinner. We eventually choose a basement cafe. Well, I ordered a fishermans basket which sounded quite nice. It wasn't - it was all deep fried which is horrible. So I was a bit pissed off with the food and it wasn't really cheap. I ate it all though to make it a bit worth while paying for. Now if you don't want to hear possible criminal activities don't read on!!! We went to pay and were paying for our meals seperately so they did mine first and the girl only charged me for my orange juice, so I gave Kelly a look so that she wouldn't say anything!! We actually got away with not paying for our meals and when we got up the stairs Kelly grabbed me and so the two dishonest girls were now running down the street - making it feel really naughty!!!
So because we had a free meal we thought we could have chocolate cake. We did but the Sydney Chocolate Mud Cake actually tasted like christmas pudding which I do not like. I ate a bit anyway and vowed not to bother trying to find a nice chocolate cake again - not a successful night with food.
Today we ended up getting up a little later. We did however manage a nice cheap breakfast in the YHA cafe so that was a good way to start the day.
We also caught the ferry over to the Olympic Park which I wasn't very impressed with but maybe some stuff was closed since its a Sunday? There was a rugby match in the Telstra Stadium, Bulldogs Vs Warriors maybe!?! and some small football thing going on in the Athletics Stadium. It was ok but nothing great.
That is pretty much all we have done today.
I have enjoyed Sydney but am so ready to leave and am really looking forward to getting moving. Get me into the countryside away from the city!!!
Hope everyone is having a good hot weekend, my parents are off to Prague with my Mum and Lorraine going to see Robbie so hopefully they will have a good time.
Take Care

Well Robbie was fantastic - he seems to improve all the time. Although the stadium held more people than the bowl we, somehow, managed to get quite close. Dresden was a good place to go and see him. We were glad we only stayed one night as we seemed to see enough of Dresden and was glad to get back to Prague. Weather all along was very very hot, one day reaching around 38 degrees!!
Speak to you soon.
