Hervey Bay - Lazy Days....
I had a very lazy time in Hervey Bay. I had four days there before Kristine was due back so I had to entertain myself. I decided not to do Fraser Island until a bit later in the year, if poss, when it is warmer.
I walked around alot and saw the aquarium which was a bit of a rip off but something to do for an hour or so. I checked out the beach and saw a load of fruit bats nearby which was cool. Went out a couple of nights and chatted to some guys which was ok. Most people don't bother with Hervey Bay, they just use it as a stop of point for Fraser Island.
I also visited the Botanic Gardens and had some great seafood. I read alot and finished my book there.
The accommodation was actually really good. I stayed in The Friendly Hostel which was set up like apartments and no room had more than 3 beds in it so that was great.
Met an interesting guy from Tasmania but who lives in Rainbow Beach. He was very hippyish and spiritual so we had an interesting chat one evening in the hostel.
So when Kristine arrived I didn't really get very active. I got to stay in a home though which was fabulous. I cannot thank Gwen, Kristine's Mum, or Kristine enough for everything they've done!! We watched alot of DVD's, went for walks, had a cycle and got my resume etc sorted out ready to apply for jobs.
Anyway I am currently in Brisbane, emailed some agencies but haven't heard back as yet. Staying at friends of Kristines so at least its a bit nicer than hostels.
Heading back to Hervey Bay with Kristine and doing Fraser Island.
Lets not go crazy with the comments on this one guys..

All sounds good Dawnie - it'll be strange to have your first job! Although it soon gets back to a similar routine to home... maybe the good weather (which I'm told is on its way) will remind me where I am!
Don't be disheartened by lack of emails back from agencies... I only got one back... I think they do more by phone here :o)
Try www.gumtree.com.au it sometimes has jobs in the Community seciton.

Hi Hon
Well we will probably not get up to 25 comments again. But it's the record to beat!!
Anyway good to get an update sounds like staying at Kristines' was a nice change. And it is nice to be staying in another flat. But you will soon be back to the hostels - maybe!! Good luck with job hunting. Loads of love Mum xxxxxxxxxx
Just a pointless commenting session... under strict instructions from someone...

What happened to the guy from Tasmania? Glad all is well with you and that you have enjoyed some "home" comforts. Good luck with your job hunting. Lots of Love xx
Hey dawn, you are far too well behaved - looking for a job already!! Hopefully when you Finally meet bruce the sheep shearer (and it would seem his entire family for the rest of you guys) he will keep you in the manner you have become accustomed to!!! Work is pretty boring here - the weather is rubbish - although my friends wedding was beautiful and yes i did choke up slightly while doing my reading!! Not many single guys there -all couples damn it!! the only single ones were the boys i went to school with - no thanks but i was happily drunk all day - the hangover the next day was a shocker!!! Speak soon x x x
Well I hope that you are enjoying your day. It is pouring here, I hope that we have not flooded at home!
Anyway Take Care
Love Mum

Thanks for all the comments.... I have booked for my guided Fraser Island trip with a bit of 5 star luxury! Lovely.
Grant, from Tasmania, lives in Rainbow beach so he went home. I may meet up with him in Tassie though if I get there. Have to say that I am not the least bit attracted to this guy but he is nice to chat to!!
Good day today here, out on the bike in shorts and t-shirt although that is partly to the fact that I am washing everything else....almost.
Its looking positive for me to get a job in Rockhampton so will be there next week.
I will try to get pictures up but the internet cafes are rubbish really and limited so its not easy!
Take it easy and be blissful!!

Hi Dawn
We had a great weekend. Camping in our cheap tent, which kept us dry even when we had thunder, lightning and loads of rain at night. Hope you are able to do the scuba course.
Love you lots
Mum
